This resource is designed to introduce undergraduate students to science and technology in ancient Greece and Rome by providing much useful information on personalities, inventions, the cultural background to major intellectual and technical changes, and a series of 'specific subjects' which guides the user through topics such as astronomy and astrology, biology, engineering, geography, manufacturing, mathematics, mechanics, medicine, physics and chemistry. Also featured is a series of links to the major Greek and Latin texts (with translations) which form the source material for this course as well as to related resources in ancient technology. The site is being developed by Dr Tracey Rihil as part of her undergraduate teaching and research programme at the University of Swansea and includes some student papers containing text and photos of some of the practical projects submitted by level 2 students on her technology and engineering module.
