Real Time Copenhagen displays the pulse of the city (culture night) as its unfold in real time. The overlaying of people movement - as captured through mobile phone intensity - with events gives us an understanding of the macro dynamics taking place in the city. Meanwhile, the tracking of volunteers through GPS provides a more personal glimpse of the individual movement traces that are being created on the night. The casual observer can use the visualization to choose the most appropriate routes through the city and the events they would like to see. In doing so, there is a realization, that they themselves have become an agent of change in the shifting urban environment that surrounds them.
